Interest Rates - 1996 - 2007
This article takes a look at interest rates between 1996 and 2007, by studying the table below we can see that during this period the highest Bank of England base rate occurred during June 1998 when interest rates reached 7.50% with the lowest period occuring during the Buy to let boom period 'peaking' at its lowest during July 2003.
The latest change in interest rates occured on the 11th January 2007 and the current rate is 5.25% the highest figure since May 2001.
